Melbourne, 24 June 2026:  Generation Life continues to respond to the recent cyber incident involving an unauthorised third-party gaining access to part of our system via an external service provider.  

As previously communicated on 27 April 2026, this incident was detected quickly and immediately contained.  

We are also aware that a third-party named Generation Life on 17 May 2026 and claims to have accessed some of our data.  

Since the incident was first identified, we have been working closely with specialist cybersecurity and forensic experts to assist with the investigation and response.

Following a detailed investigation and data review, we are now in the process of notifying individuals whose personal information has been confirmed as impacted, in line with our obligations.  

This relates to a limited number of individuals, and we are committed to providing them with the appropriate support and guidance to protect their information. 

As previously advised, our investigation has confirmed that there has been no access to the core systems responsible for investment activities or evidence of any unauthorised transactions, client investments and funds have not been impacted, and that our services continue to operate as normal. We have increased our transaction monitoring and controls as a precaution.  

Generation Life has notified relevant government authorities and regulators in line with its obligations, including the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC), the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), and the National Office of Cyber Security (NOCS). 

As always, we recommend that our clients, advisers and partners stay vigilant against any unusual or unsolicited communications, including emails, phone calls, SMS, or unfamiliar links. 

If anyone has received correspondence purporting to come from us and wishes to confirm it is legitimate, they should contact our dedicated support team at support@genlife.com.au.
