DNR Capital appointed to manage Generation Life’s Australian Emerging Companies option

09 March 2023 • 12 min read

DNR Capital’s Australian Emerging Companies Strategy has been added to the Generation Life investment menu.

John Laver, Head of Investment at Generation Life, said: “The DNR Capital Australian Emerging Companies Strategy has been added to our Generation Life Tax Optimised Series to provide clients the best in class access to Australian small companies which suits the long term investment horizon of our clients. The strategy has delivered significant alpha outperforming the S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries Total Return Index by 15.81% p.a.* since inception of the strategy in December 2017.

The selection of DNR Capital was in part due to its boutique investment culture, promoting a high degree of alignment, while having a highly regarded and well-structured investment process. We believe DNR Capital is positioned well to compound capital for our clients on an after-tax basis.”

DNR Capital was selected based on experience and a track record in identifying high quality, small cap listed Australian companies trading at attractive valuations. DNR Capital is a highly regarded and well credentialed investment manager with a very experienced and talented portfolio management team in Australia.

Commenting on the appointment, DNR Capital’s CEO, Robert White stated, “We’re delighted to be partnering with Generation Life in bringing our high conviction, concentrated investment philosophy in the small caps space to the Generation Life investment suite’ DNR Capital Australian Emerging Companies Strategy option.”

The DNR Capital Australian Emerging Companies Strategy investment objective seeks to identify good quality emerging businesses that are mispriced by overlaying its quality filter, referred to as the ‘quality web’, with a strong valuation discipline. The manager defines quality companies as those with earnings strength, superior industry position, sound balance sheet, strong management and low ESG risk.

The DNR Capital Australian Emerging Companies Portfolio is part of Generation Life’s Tax Optimised Series offered through the LifeBuilder, ChildBuilder and FuneralBond investment menu.
